MySQL 8.4
Current MySQL 8.4 on a replicated cluster: primary plus replicas, semi-synchronous replication.
MySQL 8.4 • Germany (EU) • No card to start
MySQL 8.4 from €0/month. Automatic failover on every plan, including the free one.
Managed MySQL hosting means the provider runs the MySQL server for you. You get a database endpoint, backups and failover. You do not patch the server or manage the disks.
Hostim runs MySQL 8.4 as a replicated cluster in Germany: a primary and replicas with semi-synchronous replication. If the primary fails, the cluster fails over automatically. This is included on every plan, including the free 256 MB plan. Daily backups are encrypted, kept 7 days and stored in Germany.
Your app runs on the same platform as the database. The connection details are injected as environment variables, and the database is not reachable from the public internet.
The same managed setup on every plan, from the free 256 MB database to the dedicated 100 GB server.
Current MySQL 8.4 on a replicated cluster: primary plus replicas, semi-synchronous replication.
Automatic failover on every plan, including the free one. No extra tier for high availability.
Encrypted daily backups, kept for 7 days and stored in Germany. Download them from the console or with hostim backups download.
Apps in the same project connect over private networking. For a database named blog, BLOG_MYSQL_HOST, BLOG_MYSQL_PORT, BLOG_MYSQL_DATABASE, BLOG_MYSQL_USER and BLOG_MYSQL_PASSWORD are injected automatically.
Run mysqldump or connect DBeaver, MySQL Workbench or TablePlus through an SSH bastion tunnel.
Your app container and your MySQL database run on one platform, under one invoice.
Shared plans are an isolated database on a shared server. Dedicated plans run on their own server. Prices in EUR per month. You can scale a plan up or down later.

Pick on the failure mode, not the number. A free single-node database has no standby. If the node fails, your app is down until it comes back. Hostim runs a replicated cluster with automatic failover on the free plan too, but the disk is 256 MB. If you need more space and still want failover, move to sm-1 at €1/month.
Yes. Hostim.dev has a free MySQL plan with 256 MB of storage, automatic failover and no card to start. Aiven for MySQL has a free plan with 1 GB on a single node without high availability. Check the table above for the details.
MySQL 8.4 on every plan.
Yes. MySQL runs as a replicated cluster with a primary, replicas and semi-synchronous replication. Automatic failover is included on every plan, including the free one.
The database has no public endpoint. Open an SSH tunnel through the Hostim bastion, then point DBeaver, MySQL Workbench, TablePlus or the mysql client at the local end of the tunnel. The bastion guide has the exact steps.
Run mysqldump against your old server, then load the dump into Hostim through the SSH bastion tunnel. Use the connection details from the database environment variables.
The database runs in Germany, and daily backups are stored encrypted in Germany. You can download backups from the console or with hostim backups download.
Both use the same price ladder, so price does not decide it. Pick the engine your app supports. Both are managed, replicated and backed up daily.
