Is Hostim a Railway alternative for EU teams?
Yes. Hostim deploys Docker and Git apps in Germany with managed PostgreSQL, MySQL and Redis. Railway has four deploy regions — US West, US East, EU West (Amsterdam) and Southeast Asia — so an EU region is available there too; the difference is that Hostim is EU-only and a German company, while Railway is US-based.
How does Hostim pricing differ from Railway?
Hostim charges a flat monthly price per app (from €2.50/month) and includes free database tiers. Railway uses resource-based billing where CPU, memory and egress are metered separately, which makes monthly costs harder to predict.
Can I deploy a Docker Compose stack on Hostim?
Yes. Paste a Docker Compose YAML file and Hostim will create the matching apps, databases and volumes. You can also deploy from a Dockerfile or a Git repository.
Does Hostim support background workers and cron jobs?
Yes. You can run multiple apps in the same project — for example one web app and one worker pulling from the same Redis. Cron jobs are scheduled via a dedicated app type.
Where is Hostim hosted?
On bare-metal servers in Germany (Falkenstein). Hostim does not use AWS, GCP or Azure, so app data and database storage stay in the EU.
